Early in 2001 we made the decision to bring even more production capability to Red Suspenders. We acquired a Pinhero planer from Auburn Machinery which we will use to produce high quality board stock for floorings, ceilings and walls. This planer will be in operation mid July 2001.
We create very high-quality board stock of varying thickness and widths from 4" to 12" from new and recycled material. This material is usually milled into a variety of patterns. We regularly have tongue and groove flooring, bead board ceiling stock, "V" groove patterns of various widths and beveled siding in stock. We can produce just about any pattern you need. If you want 1 x 12 tongue and groove flooring, we'll make it for you. Most often we provide this to our clients at below-market prices as an added value service.
At times we will also take this high-grade material and make various other products for our clients. We have crafted custom doors, trim, stair parts, cabinets and furniture for folks who were unable to find just the right item to compliment their timber frame anywhere else.
For an example, see the home built in Argyle Texas in the Galleries section. We supplied all of the southern yellow pine stair parts, door and baseboard trim for the home. The six-pane front doors were designed by Tim Chauvin and built using Douglas fir in our Timber Shop. Additionally, the clapboard siding used on the outside of both the main home and the barn were made here at Red Suspenders.
